Microsoft 365 setup: Teams

Six steps in Microsoft Entra so Louvain can read Teams channels and chats. About ten minutes.

You need: a Global Administrator or a Cloud Application Administrator.

In the Microsoft Entra admin centre, open App registrations → New registration. Name it Louvain Teams → Register.

Open Manifest. Replace the whole "requiredResourceAccess": [ … ] section with this block (keep the comma after it) → Save.

Open API permissions → Grant admin consent → Yes.
Open Certificates & secrets → New client secret → Add. Copy the Value now: it's shown once.
Open Overview. Copy the Directory (tenant) ID and the Application (client) ID.
In Louvain, open Connections → Workspace → Add connection → Microsoft Teams → App registration. Paste the three values → Connect.

No Louvain account? Send the three values to your Louvain administrator through a password manager, never by plain email.

Channel messages and chats need Microsoft's approval of a protected API: apply here with the two IDs from step 5. Approval takes days to weeks; until then the Teams connection waits and says why.
